Edmonton Fire Panel Monitoring – Austin Security
Fire panel monitoring in Edmonton & area 25+ years
Austin Security is an experienced ULC-561 approved installer and Edmonton-based fire system monitoring company, with over two decades in the industry. From condominiums, apartments to industrial parks and daycares, many new sites are required by building code to have their existing fire panels monitored. Depending on the jurisdiction, these services are sometimes required before occupancy will be granted.
Once the site has this approvewd installation you will receive a ULC Certificate from Austin Security. This documentation is the only proof that the entire process meets the ULC standards. Most fire prevention offices, insurance companies, fire inspectors, building engineers and architects only accept this certificate as proof of ULC-S561 fire monitoring.
We work to ensure the rugged construction of the equipment and the devices will properly handle fire alarm-related signals. The fire panel monitoring equipment is able to prioritize fire alarm signals above all others, and have that signal transmitted at the monitoring station within seconds of fire alarm activation.
CAN/ULC-S561 is a monitoring standard written by the Underwriter’s Laboratories of Canada (ULC), an internationally recognized standards body. This standard is the point of reference in the Fire Code and Building Code for any building that is required to have its fire alarm or sprinkler system monitored.

What is the difference between a fire panel and a fire panel monitoring system?
Your fire panel is installed by your sprinkler or fire detection company and is serviced by a fire panel service company. Austin Security monitors that fire panel to a standard that allows us to provide you with a CAN/ULC-561 fire panel monitoring certificate.
Do I need this permit to get occupancy?
Many new buildings depending on the size and use, require a ULC-561 certificate. Contact your building engineer, architect, or Fire Marshall for local fire code requirements. This is an important task and could delay the opening of your business or multi-tenant housing project. Early in the project development stages, make arrangements to determine if your new site requires this certificate and if so, call Austin Security for a site visit or meeting.
